As a certified child passenger safety technician, I can assist you in learning about your car seat and its proper use.
Car seat consultation via Zoom, or Google Hangouts up to 1 hour.
Select a time when you’ll have access to the car seat and the car in a quiet place with minimal distractions. Ideally, your child will also be available for at least part of the time in order to assess harness fit and adjustment. (If your child is unborn, we can use a doll or teddy bear for practice, if possible.)
During a virtual checkup, we’ll need to be able to see each other well, so if you have multiple devices available, consider using the one with the largest screen. Since you’ll need to use both hands during the checkup, it’s ideal to have another adult available to operate the camera. If this isn’t possible, you’ll need to anticipate another solution for positioning your phone or tablet effectively so I’ll be able to see you work with your car seat.
Make sure you have both the vehicle owner’s manual, and the car seat manual readily available.
In person car seat consultation in a socially distanced manner. I will observe COVID best practices with frequent use of hand sanitizer, wearing a face mask at all times, and observing a 6ft distance between myself and caregivers to the best of my ability. One 1/2 hr follow up video consultation will be provided free of charge to ensure the seat is installed properly and child is harnessed correctly.
You should have both the vehicle’s owner manual and car seat manual available for the appointment. The child should also be available part of the time. If the child is not born yet, we can use a teddy bear or doll to practice with. All caregivers and children over the age of 2 are required to wear a face mask at all times.
Basic service includes 20 mile radius from Mission Valley area. Additional mileage compensation of $1 per mile will be charged outside of the service area.
